The Premier Group was founded in 1991 by native Memphian James Wesley Gibson, II. The company was established to market medical supplies to the healthcare industry in Memphis. With the healthcare industry being the number one revenue producing industry in Shelby County, Mr. Gibson, being a native Memphian, seized the opportunity to bring the two concepts together to realize Economic Development. The Premier Group is an authorized distributor for the two largest Group Purchasing Organizations in the healthcare industry – Novation and Premier Partners, LLC. This allows The Premier Group access to contracts with over 500 manufacturers and providers of services. The Premier Group is properly positioned to be a major player in the distribution of Medical, Dental and Laboratory Supplies.
